Meta unveils Vibes for AI short video creation and sharing

    September 29, 2025
Facebook WhatsApp Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Telegram Tumblr Email Reddit VKontakte

Meta Platforms launched a new feature called Vibes on Sunday, introducing a curated feed of short-form videos generated entirely through artificial intelligence. The new functionality is now available in the Meta AI app and through the company’s official website. The Vibes feed allows users to create AI-generated videos from text prompts, existing media, or by remixing content already published in the feed. Each video is accompanied by the original prompt used to generate it, providing context for viewers and other creators.

Meta unveils Vibes for AI short video creation and sharing
New AI video content tools are now available via Meta’s Vibes feed on app and web platforms.

Users have the option to add visuals, incorporate music, or enhance their clips with various editing tools before publishing them to the Vibes platform or sharing them via Instagram and Facebook as Stories or Reels. Meta confirmed that Vibes replaces the Discover feed, which previously highlighted users’ text-based interactions with Meta AI. The company stated that the change aligns with ongoing efforts to expand AI capabilities across its product offerings.

The videos created through Vibes can be shared across Meta’s ecosystem, encouraging content distribution between the Meta AI app and its social media platforms. The rollout includes access to a range of AI video generation tools. In the initial phase, Meta is using models from external AI developers, including Midjourney and Black Forest, rather than exclusively relying on its own Llama models. According to the company, these models enable a wide variety of creative styles and use cases for users experimenting with AI-generated video. The company has also introduced new remixing tools that allow users to modify existing Vibes videos.

Meta partners with AI developers for visual content generation

When a user views a video generated by Meta AI on Instagram, for example, they can tap through to the Meta AI app and use the tools to generate their own version of the content. These tools include the ability to adjust visual elements, change audio tracks, and apply alternative AI styles. Vibes has been launched as a preview and is expected to evolve based on user interaction and feedback. Meta is working with select creators and artists to refine the platform’s capabilities and improve the user experience during this early access phase.

The introduction of Vibes follows organizational changes within Meta’s AI division earlier this year. In June, the company merged multiple teams under a new unit called Superintelligence Labs, consolidating research and product development for AI systems, including the Meta AI assistant and Llama open-source models. Meta’s broader strategy includes integrating generative AI into multiple user-facing applications. In addition to the Meta AI chatbot and AI editing tools on social platforms, the company has introduced AI features in its smart glasses and other hardware initiatives.

Vibes preview version currently available on app and website

Vibes adds a new visual dimension to this suite, centered specifically on creative video content. The launch comes as technology companies continue to expand their use of generative AI in consumer products. Short-form video remains one of the most popular formats on social platforms, and Meta’s integration of AI into that space positions the company to test new engagement models through automated content creation.

Meta stated that it plans to provide ongoing updates to Vibes and will broaden the scope of the tools as new models and features become available. The company did not specify a timeline for a full-scale rollout or when the feed might be integrated directly into Instagram or Facebook as a native feature. For now, Vibes remains accessible via the Meta AI app and website, with additional distribution possible through cross-platform sharing. – By Content Syndication Services.
